Framed Shares

Recently, I embarked on a journey to teach children about the importance of understanding money. I think it’s important to get them started young. One idea I had was to have them purchase one share of Disney stock and frame it.

As it turns out, some adults were asking me how they could do this as well.

While there are various ways to accomplish this task, I wanted to share one simple solution, visit Shareinaframe.com.

For instance, you could purchase that single Disney share, frame it nicely and hang it up on your child’s wall. It’s something that’s tangible and they’ll understand that. Plus, the value of the gift could increase in time.

It’s not just for kids though. Many have an “empty” feeling when money is being used on something that you can’t see, visualize and feel. Take real estate, you can see, visualize and feel your investment—whether it’s developed or raw land.

For the older “kid,” Shareinaframe offers Harley Davidson stock. They have four nice frames to choose from too. There’s a small processing fee. The only other cost involved is for the share of stock and frame you choose.

All in all, it’s a nice concept and something to think about.

Great idea! I remember my Mom gave me 2 Indian head pennies when I was very young. I believe you are right about the tangible side of money involving kids in later life’s financial decisions. I now have a mortgage advice site. It pretty much covers the basics of mortgage related stuff. Come by and have a look when you get time :-)

I like this idea, but how about having them buy a share of something that might be worth a lot more over the long run, like McDonalds?

I have a stupid question. Can anobody tell me how much dollars are out there?:I mean the total amount of dollars on the marker:100 trilion?Because it seems US guverment is printing dollars like crazy.

You might even what to consider purchasing older stock or bonds. Scripophily, the collecting of antique stock and bond certificates, is a fascinating and growing hobby, with thousands of collectors worldwide.

Good idea. If one of our kids finds a quarter around the house that isn’t theirs, we make them give it to us to help them to understand the value of money and that it is to be earned. Hope that doesn’t sound too harsh, but we think the lesson is important.
